Commissioning A Pawtrait

If you have never asked an artist or craftsperson to make something especially for you, commissioning that special picture can feel daunting.

I always work from photographs, partly because I get requests for paintings from all over the world making it impractical to see the subject in person and partly because you know your pet better than anyone else, you know which photos are the best resemblance, and which best reflect their individual personalities.

The photos that you send me must be the best quality you can manage, and the more, the better as it helps me to understand your pet. A close up of the head is also useful as I will reproduce the head and shoulders only unless you request otherwise.

Any other information about your pet is also helpful to capture their character. I will always discuss with you your requirements.
